Anonymous hacks the Central Bank of Russia and are to leak 35,000 files with ‘secret agreements’

The hacktivist group Anonymous have hacked the Central Bank of Russia which is responsible for protecting the safety of the country’s currency.

The group said, “JUST IN: The #Anonymous collective has hacked the Central Bank of Russia. More than 35.000 files will be released within 48 hours with secret agreements. #OpRussia.”

This comes after it has been reported that the Central Bank’s Governor Elvira Nabiullina tried to resign in opposition to the Ukraine war, but Vladimir Putin ordered her to remain in her role.

Sergei Guriev, professor of economics at Sciences Po Paris said that Nabiullina, 58, said she “didn’t sign up to work in wartime.”

Anonymous said, “We have been printing anti-propaganda and Tor installation instructions to printers all over [Russia] for 2 hours, and printed 100,000+ copies so far.

“15 people working on this op as we speak.”
