The founders of Scrumconnect, an award-winning digital transformation specialist, have today launched AttiFin AI, a new AI-powered legal technology company for the UK legal sector.
The company has been designed to help legal professionals work more efficiently while improving the accuracy and reliability of their outputs.
The launch comes at a pivotal moment for the industry. While AI adoption is now widespread, with 96% of law firms using some form of AI, concerns around data security, hallucinations and data security continue to limit trust in real-world legal use.
There are also growing concerns around models trained primarily on US legal systems, which may not accurately reflect UK law. AttiFin AI has been created to address these challenges head-on.
Using plain English prompts, AttiFin AI enables legal professionals to securely search, draft and analyse content, with outputs grounded in UK law and fully auditable. Users can interrogate large volumes of documents, generate drafts and rapidly summarise contracts with trusted citations front and centre of all interactions.
AttiFin’s accuracy and reliability is cemented through a model where all responses are drawn from a controlled set of trusted legal sources, with citations provided as standard and the underlying source instantly accessible for scrutiny.
Additionally, the platform is built on a clear data commitment which ensures that the legal firm remains in complete control of its data. Interactions are not used to train AttiFin’s models, and UK data residency is assured through flexible, secure deployment options, whether hosted via a commercial UK-based cloud service of the firm’s choosing, or within its own infrastructure.
The company is targeting a broad range of organisations, including corporate law firms, high-street practices, in-house legal teams and legal aid providers – all of which face increasing pressure to improve efficiency while maintaining quality and compliance.
Speaking on the launch, Shilpa Kaluti, CEO and Co-Founder of AttiFin AI said: “AttiFin AI was born out of a clear gap in the market. Legal teams are being asked to move faster and do more, but they can’t compromise on accuracy, confidentiality or professional standards. Every hour saved on research and repetitive work is an hour that can be redirected to clients to increase responsiveness, expand capacity, and create added billing opportunities. We’ve taken everything we’ve learned from building secure systems for the UK justice sector at Scrumconnect and created a company entirely focused on solving this problem.”
Jordan Armstrong, Head of Product at AttiFin AI, said: “The legal industry is under constant pressure to balance speed, cost and risk. A huge amount of time is still spent on repetitive, non-billable work. AttiFin AI is designed to remove that burden. Even saving an hour a week per lawyer can have a significant impact. But efficiency alone isn’t enough in legal work – trust is critical. AttiFin AI works within a controlled set of legal sources and flags when information cannot be found or verified, rather than generating uncertain responses. That’s what makes it usable in real legal environments.”
Headquartered in Newcastle, AttiFin AI reflects the growing strength of regional innovation in the UK, as high-value AI development continues to expand beyond London. The company has also secured £5 million in seed funding ahead of launch, enabling further investment in product development, hiring and expansion.
AttiFin AI is demonstrating the platform at London Tech Week, where visitors can see the technology in action and speak with the team. Organisations interested in finding out more are encouraged to get in touch.
