The next generation of UK tech companies will pitch for over £130 million of investment at an event hosted at The Mansion House on 11 March.

The first-ever Lady Mayor’s Tech Scaleup Showcase connects more than 230 investors and industry representatives with 18 of the UK’s most innovative startups, as they seek financing to fund the next stage of their growth journey.

Founders offering new innovations in sectors ranging from AI to hydrogen and healthcare will undertake Dragons Den-style pitches across The Mansion House’s historic Egyptian Hall, Long Parlour and Drawing Room.

Lady Mayor of the City of London, Dame Susan Langley said: “The UK is bursting with world-class entrepreneurs ready to shape the future. But too many are forced to look overseas for the backing they need. If we’re serious about economic growth, we must back our risk-takers here at home.

“Today’s Showcase will demonstrate what’s possible. Over the coming months, we will work with partners to call for practical solutions so more entrepreneurs can receive the backing required to succeed in the UK and for the UK.”

Ahead of the Showcase, the Lady Mayor will host a roundtable as part of the Scale-up Initiative. The initiative is a partnership between the City of London Corporation, Innovate Finance, the British Business Bank, HMT, and the FCA to help high-growth fintechs access the finance and connections they need to scale.

This work was commissioned by the Chancellor of the Exchequer in her 2025 Mansion House Speech. Since then, the City of London Corporation has completed structured interviews with founders, investors, pensions providers and regulators to build a system‑wide evidence base.

Following the roundtable, the City of London Corporation and key partners will begin to scope the solutions required to make sure UK scale-ups have the access to finance they need to invest, innovate and scale in the UK. These solutions will complement the Mansion House Accord and Mansion House Compact.
