Snapchat has suffered a major outage affecting millions of users globally and its unclear if the company will need to roll out a fix.

Snapchat has acknowledged there is a problem and told “Snapchattters” to “hang tight” as they try to resolve the issue.

The company tweeted, “We’re aware that some Snapchatters are having issues using the app right now – hang tight, we’re looking into it!”

A post from someone listed as “Snapchat Admin” said it “will shortly be back up and running.”

They added, “Please log out and log back in in the meantime to refresh your connection.”

Last week WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram saw global outage affecting over 10m people which wiped out billions from its share value.

Facebook blamed a “faulty configuration change” and has proven how much the company is now part “of the critical infrastructure” in the US and around the world.
